Proposition 4 was overwhelmingly approved by California voters during the 2024 General Election, which authorizes $10 billion in general obligation bonds for water, wildfire prevention, and protection of communities and lands, including $170 million for the Salton Sea.
“Alianza Coachella Valley thanks California voters for passing Proposition 4, which will provide $10 billion for environmental projects, such as safeguarding drinking water, combating wildfires, protecting our natural lands, and improving community resilience against floods and extreme heat. Proposition 4 also provides $170 million in much needed funding for the Salton Sea to address air quality, public health, and habitat restoration,” said Silvia Paz, Executive Director of Alianza Coachella Valley.
“Thank you to our staff, partners, volunteers, and community for educating and encouraging people to vote to protect our environment so that we can ensure thriving Salton Sea communities.”
We look forward to working with the state of California as they invest in the Salton Sea region.
